Left Penn Hills & went to WVU to play basketball.Ended up running track & field {high jump,long jump,triple jump}. Liked spring breaks in So. Fl. so much I moved South to teach in Miami.Taught 34 years.Started a mobile Disc Jockey business.Still doing part time DJ work as well as part time fishing guide in the 10,000 Islands of Everglades National Park. I still spend time with Bob Moelber who is retired in Naples.Also see Tim Timko who is still teaching in Deerfield Beach.

My years in Florida as a teacher/coach and a disc jockey have left me with a plethora of memories. I'd like to share just a few...

As a disc jockey for 12 years at Fort Lauderdale's Mariott Harbor Beach Resort, I had many adventures. As an incognito Cindy Crawford was moving from the waterfall pool area to the beach, a gremlin in my head told me to segue into the song, "I Only Have Eyes for You"- her Pepsi commercial, featuring the same song had just come out. She stopped and I had a sudden urge to use the bathroom.what the #$%$ was I thinking? But to my surprise, she turned and gave me a big smile and a wave...... I also received compliments from Cuba Gooding, Jr and his wife........ Sitting one on one with Jimmy Beaumont, of the Skyliners, sharing some cold ones, was a highlight of my time at the Harbor Beach...... Hanging with the Diamonds' Bass Bill Reid and drinking until" beer thirty" in the morning and joining in on a highly intoxicating acapella of "Little Darlin'"...... Alice Cooper???..... Backstage with the Miami Sound machine.

Proud dad department: Cruising down A1A and hearing Alli on the radio as the voice of 97.3 the Coast. Seeing Alli on the local Fox Sports' Network. My daughter Michelle's driving ambition as an Assistant Principal in Broward County.

Never too late to thank you..... In second grade, the class project was to plant Easter plants for our moms. I was sick. Miss Bertovich called and said Jean Moore volunteered to plant my Easter lilly and care for it...... Bruce Weeter for fixing me up with Sue Eldridge in the 6th grade (David Wray- you lucky dog).

If you come South, y'all welcome. If I'm not in Lauderdale, I'll be at my fish camp on Chokoloskee Island. If I'm not there,: door is open, beer in fridge, boat key under the conch shell!!!

My life's goal....catch a fish in every state....I'm over half way there...My mantra....a country song...God is great, beer is good..people are crazy!!!.
