Reverend Dr. Iris R. Keys, a beloved servant of God, devoted educator, and compassionate healer, transitioned to eternal rest on January 6, 2025.
Dr. Keys was a retired physician who specialized in the treatment and management of hypertension. Her dedication to improving the lives of her patients was a testament to her passion for health and well-being. Her impact extended far beyond her clinical work as she served as an Associate Professor, sharing her knowledge and experience with current and future nurses. Her commitment to education ensured that the next generation of healthcare professionals would be well-equipped to carry on her legacy of compassionate care.
Dr. Keys also dedicated over 30 years of service to the federal government, where her work was marked by integrity, excellence, and a tireless commitment to public health.
As an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Reverend Dr. Keys was a beacon of faith, wisdom, and leadership. She guided others with grace, always seeking to uplift and inspire those in her spiritual care. Her unwavering faith and love for God were evident in every aspect of her life, and she touched countless lives through her ministry.
Dr. Keys’ legacy is one of service, love, and dedication. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were blessed to know her.
