I was a neighbor of Sandy's. We used to play with our dolls, making clothes for them out of scraps of fabric from our mothers' sewing projects. We also rode our bikes around the block, coasting down the "big hill" on Janice Dr. in the summertime and sledding in the winter. One of our parents often called the township and requested that our street not be cindered so that we could use it for sledding. There were 8 girls in our class in the surrounding neighborhood, but we were split between Hebron and Thad Stevens Elementary Schools through 5th grade until the "new" Hebron School was completed that would accomodate the large number of new residents in our area of Penn Hills We were within walking distance from "Penn Junior High" and often walked together. I enjoyed reminiscing with her at our early reunions.
