GLORIA J. DiPALMA 1943 - 2015 | Obituary | Condolences GLORIA J. DiPALMA Obituary DiPALMA GLORIA J. Age 71, loving wife, mother, nana, and sister was called by the Lord to be with Him on Thursday, January 8, 2015, after a heroic battle with cancer. Born in 1943, Gloria was raised and lived in Oakmont, Penn Hills, and Plum. Work achievements did not define her life, although there were many at Gulf Oil, the University of Pittsburgh, and the Center for Hazardous Materials Research. Love of, dedication to, and service to family is what defined her. Gloria was the very best definition of daughter, sister, wife, mother, and nana that someone could be. She lived this everyday through hard work, honesty, perseverance, kindness, cheerfulness, humbleness, and a wonderfully strong spirit. Gloria always put the needs of others ahead of herself which was even more remarkable as she overcame the effects of a brain tumor 19 years ago and through her battle with cancer. She gave her all for her family. Gloria is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 48 years, Dennis, Sr.; her children, Dennis (Lori) DiPalma, Jr. and David (Jenefer) DiPalma; her grandchildren, Allison and Katherine; her sister, Mary Ann Grechen; and her sister-in-law, Susan Grechen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Augustina Grechen, Sr.; and her brother, Vincent Grechen, Jr. Friends and relatives will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015, at CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015, at St. Gerard Majella Church, Penn Hills, with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery. The family suggests donations to Forbes Hospice made in Gloria's memory to Forbes Health Foundation, 2570 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, PA 15146.
