Obituary

Ella Louise Crosgrove was born June 9, 1943 to Emily and Rush Simpson Crosgrove in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and departed this life August 12, 2020 at the age of 77. Ella accepted Christ into her life at First Baptist Church of Penn Hills as a child. She attended Penn Hills School District where she graduated from Seneca High School in 1961 and went on to earn her certificate in Secretarial Studies from Robert Morris University in 1963. After graduating Louise began working from Bell Atlantic telephone in 1963, where she held various positions for the next 30 years until she retired in 1993.

After retirement Louise began her “second act” act as supervisor at Kohl’s department store. This position allowed her to combine her love for working and staying busy with shopping and fashion. Louise was always well dressed in the perfect outfit for every occasion. In addition to shopping Louise enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite vacations were spent with family and friend traveling to New Orleans, Arizona, Cape Cod, and cruising to Bermuda. Louise also enjoyed time spent out of town visiting her brother and his family for holidays and other special occasions or no reason at all.

Ella Louise was preceded in death by her parents Emily and Rush Simpson Crosgrove, her brother Jimmie Lee Brooks, and her sister Virginia Crosgrove. She leaves to mourn her brother Robert Lee Brooks, Sister in Love Jene Brooks, brother Carter Ray Crosgrove, Sr. sister in love Joyce Crosgrove. Nephews Robert Brooks, Jr, John Patrick, Carter Crosgrove, Jr. and niece Candice Crosgrove. She also leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews.
