Mary Caranfa (Tranquillo)
Mary Dora Tranquillo, 74 of Charlotte, died June 30, 2017 at her home. She was born April 14, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and an outstanding teacher and educator for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Tranquillo, parents Guy and Dora Caranfa and brothers Mario and Guy Caranfa.
Survivors include her daughter Maria Tranquillo Lamb and husband Timothy of Charlotte; grandchildren Tessa and Thomas. Sister Margaret Busciglio of Nashville and many nieces and nephews.
A mass in celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5 at St. Mark Catholic Church with a reception to follow at James Funeral home. Burial will be private at Northlake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Carolina Integrative Medicine Society, PO Box 1038Wake Forest, NC 27588-1038.

I was so sorry to hear of Mary's passing.She battled cancer with such courage.
She was a faithful friend whose sweet spirit I will miss. I will always cherish memories
