Rose taught art for many years in a private school in atlanta, georgia. she was a vibrant, outstanding teacher well respected by both her students and fellow teachers. rose summered in her beloved alaska where she volunteered at the ranger station above homer on the awesome kenai peninsula. she was an invaluable asset during the cleanup of the valdez oil spill helping to coordinate the cleanup efforts. rose's ashes were scattered in the kachemak bay waters near homer after she lost a long hard fought battle with cancer in the late 1990's.
